Most articles on online craps advocate the Pass Line bet as the one to go for. However, there is a similar bet called the Come bet that is equally good. The difference is that the Pass Line bet has to be placed before the come out roll, while the Come bet can be placed only after the come out roll. A come out roll is the first roll of a new session.

After the come out roll the Come bet can be placed by clicking the Come area on the online craps layout on the screen. A 7 or 11 on the first roll after placing the Come bet is an automatic winner. Similarly, a 2, 3 or 12 on the first roll is an automatic loser. If any other number is rolled then that number becomes the point for this Come bet. Once the point is established, the Come bet wins if the point is rolled before a 7. It loses if a 7 is rolled before the point. If any other number is rolled the Come bet gets carried forward. If the Come bet wins at any stage the payout is even money. This bet has a house edge of only 1.4%.

You can place multiple Come bets simultaneously. After the point is established for the first Come bet, you can place another one. So there can be different Come bets on the table, each having its own point. The software for online craps will remember which point is related to which Come bet. Placing multiple Come bets has an associated risk. If any point is rolled then only the corresponding Come bet will win. However, if a 7 is rolled then all the Come bets will get wiped out in one go.

The Come bet has a corresponding ‘wrong’ bet called Don’t Come. In the early days of land based craps games, there were accusations of the dice being loaded. In order to neutralise these accusations, the craps operators allowed bunters to bet the wrong way if they wanted to. The Don’t Come and other wrong bets have been inducted in online craps though there is no possibility of loading the dice.

The Don’t Come bet is also placed after the come out roll on the Don’t Come area. The bet works in an inverse manner. A 7 or 11 is an automatic loser and a 2, 3 or 12 is an automatic winner. Once the point is established, the Come bet loses if the point is rolled before a 7. It wins if a 7 is rolled before the point. The payout is even money and the house edge is 1.4%.
