In the last one year the game has been wowing blackjack players around the world wherever it has been offered. The twist in Zombie Blackjack is, depending on the dealer's face up card, the player may have the chance to bring a busted or dead hand back to life. That is the reason for naming the game Zombie Blackjack. More specifically, when the dealer has a stronger face up card, from seven to king and ace and the player busts, then the player still has a chance to win. The player's busted bet will be boxed or set aside and the dealer will have to play out his hand according to the set rules. If the dealer does not bust, the player loses the second chance and his busted hand remains dead. But, if the dealer busts then the player’s busted hand comes back to life and is paid even money.

Every advantage offered in any online blackjack variant comes with a catch because the playing field has to be levelled. In Zombie Blackjack the Push 22 rule has been invoked. It comes into play when the player has not busted and the dealer busts on 22. The player does not win in this situation. The bet pushes and the player's wager is returned. However, if the player is dealt a blackjack then the Push 22 rule will not apply. If the dealer busts on 23 or more then the player’s boxed bet will win. If the player has a boxed bet, and the dealer gets a 22, then the boxed bet will lose.

Some of the other important rules of this new online blackjack variant are given below. It is a hole card game where the dealer peeks for blackjack. The dealer hits on soft 17. No surrender is allowed. The player’s second chance will remain in force including after doubling or splitting.
